Qu’est-ce que c’est le bilan carbone ?
C’est une méthode qui permet de calculer et de quantifier les émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES) qu’une entreprise émet au cours d’une période donnée du fait de son activité. Ces sources d’émissions vont être classées en 3 catégories :
- Scope 11 : ce sont les émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES) directement émises par les activités de l’entreprise. Il s'agit des émissions issues de combustibles fossiles (pétrole, gaz, charbon…) ;
- Scope 2 : ce sont les émissions de GES indirectes associées à la consommation d’énergie, qui surviennent en dehors des installations de l’entreprise. Cela englobe les émissions indirectes résultant de la production d'énergie achetée et consommée par l'entreprise (électricité et réseaux de chaleur / froid) ;
- Scope 3* : ce sont les émissions de GES indirectes qui échappent au contrôle direct de l’entreprise, englobant souvent les activités en amont et en aval de la chaîne de valeur. Ces émissions couvrent une gamme plus large et incluent les émissions indirectes qui résultent des activités de l'organisation, mais qui se situent en dehors de son contrôle direct : produits et services achetés, transport et logistique, déchets, etc.
Pourquoi il est important de calculer son bilan carbone ?
Chez Envhyro, nous avons décidé de nous engager dans une démarche RSE2 ambitieuse avec des objectifs à atteindre à horizon 2030. Pour pouvoir définir des objectifs concrets et pertinents pour notre activité, le bilan carbone est un outil essentiel : il permet d’identifier les pôles où l’entreprise émet le plus de GES et donc de prioriser et quantifier les actions à mener afin de réduire notre impact environnemental.
Les résultats ont parlé d’eux-mêmes, nous avons bien fait d’identifier nos pôles les plus émissifs. Société de location et vente de plaques de roulage et de protection des sols, la majorité de notre activité se situe au niveau de la livraison de nos produits. Pourtant, ce n’est pas notre pôle le plus émissif ! En effet, les résultats de notre bilan carbone ont démontré que l’impact environnemental principal de l’entreprise se situe au niveau des achats.
Pourquoi ?
Car la fabrication de certaines plaques de répartition, telles que la Pisteco, l’Envhyro Trak, ou encore l’ARENA nécessitent une certaine quantité de matières premières ; quantité nécessaire pour assurer la protection des sols et une bonne répartition des charges.
Et maintenant ?
Avec ambition, nous nous sommes fixés comme objectif de réduire nos émissions de gaz à effet de serre de 30% d’ici 2030 et de 40% d’ici 2040, nous permettant ainsi de respecter l’Accord de Paris de 2015 qui vise à limiter le changement climatique à un niveau bien inférieur à 2°C.
